Ever since Benjamin was a little baby, I always pinned sensory bin ideas on Pinterest. Ok I may be exaggerating but sensory tubs were something I've always wanted to try with him. The thing is, when he was a lot smaller, and I'm talking about age wise, he would always put whatever he could find in his mouth. He was always chewing on anything and everything and I knew at the time, that sensory activities wouldn't be a good idea, especially with some of them being choking hazards. I remember doing a few edible sensory activities with him, but let's face it, some, if not most sensory activities can be a little messy! Now that Ben is 4 and is no longer putting things in his mouth, I figured a sensory tub would be a great idea for him to play with besides video games. With Halloween around the corner, I thought that a Halloween sensory bin would be a good idea! Now this blog post is just about the things I got for the sensory bin. I will be posting another blog post on how I build it together for him! The bubbles aren't part of the sensory bin, but if you'd like, you can add them for some extra fun too! I also got: • 1 set of Halloween Shaped erasers for a find and match game to add to the sensory bin. • 1 set of decorative case filler balls for added texture and color • 1 baggy of plastic rings with fun Halloween shapes such as spiders and skulls • 2 baggies of Halloween "creatures" • 1 small storage bin I also decided to buy the bags of rice at dollar tree as well since I am going to be adding fun colors to them and I didn't want to feel bad about wasting food! For added fun, I decided to buy a scoop, cups, strainers and some funnels just to make the bin more hands on and interactive! While this isn't part of the sensory bin, I decided to show it off anyway as part of my dollar tree haul! I've had the same oven mit since I moved out of my parents, which is almost 3 years old. That thing is falling apart and ugly so I decided to get this fall themed one for the moment. I also got Benji some softer dough and I found these cute Littlest Pet shop toys for my niece and the kids as well! Thats the cool thing about dollar tree, is sometimes you'll find things you didn't even know they had! At my local dollar tree, there was also some cool star wars toys but I didn't think Ben would like them much so I got the little animals instead. I hope you guys enjoyed my Dollar Tree/Sensory Bin Haul and I can't to show you guys how it turned out!
