Some people may say that it's a little early to be talking about Halloween and Fall, but to me, it's never too early! I know it's barely September and I believe that Fall starts at the end of this month, but I have a tradion of decorating for Holidays a month before they happen! Not only that, but the holidays are my favorite time of the year, especially fall. Pumpkin everything! Speaking of pumpkins, I remembered how 2 years ago I decorated the kitchen island with oranges. All I did was paint some little jack-o-lantern faces on them, added some fake autumn leafs, and a pumpkin scented candle and it instantly felt like Halloween was around the corner! I plan on doing these again this year. They're just so cute and simple! Some other plans and activities I have for fall and Halloween this year is making colorful leafs out of Benjamin's hands and footprints! Out of his footprints I'll also do little ghosts and candy corns, and from his hands do little spiders, I just can't wait for everything so I can get started and show you guys here on my blog, Facebook and Instagram. What kind of tradions or activities do you like to do around the seasonal holidays? xoxo
I'd also like to say Happy Birthday to little Nathan and also send prayers for those families who lost loved ones on September 11th. That's right ladies and gentlemen, baby Benji will no longer be a baby! It's crazy how cliché this sounds but time truly does fly by when you have kids. Watching my son go from being a little newborn to a curious little toddler has been an adventure.
With that said, I've been going just about insane planning his first birthday party! It's my baby shower all over again. From picking napkin colors to deciding what flavor cake I should make, it's been too much for a baby's first birthday. But hey, it is his first birthday so I have to make it big! Ben's father and I -mostly I- had trouble deciding what theme we'd make his birthday. Benjamin's favorite TV shows are Sesame Street and Yo Gabba Gabba so picking between the too seemed impossible, but with the help of Pinterest and my little brain I thought, hey both cartoons are pretty monstery so why not a Monster Birthday Bash? Looking at my decision, it's perfect! Not only because I sometimes call Benjamin a little monster due to the fact that he seriously acts like one, but because it wasn't your typical first birthday theme like Sesame Street or Winnie the Pooh which let me just say are both perfectly cute and fine! At first I wanted to do all the decorations from scratch, but I honestly don't have all the time in the world for that but at the same time didn't want to buy no $50 printable monster birthday pack from Etsy. I was straight up confused! Finally, I remembered a cute picture of a birthday set I saw on Google and went back to check out the link. That's when my prayers were answered. p.owlie.powlie.com Owlie Powlie was not also affordable for like, every single party decoration you can think of and invitations, but it was just what I wanted! And best of all, it was instant download so I could edit the cards myself without having to wait for someone to do it for me! I'm finally stress free and can't wait for my son's first birthday. Make sure to check out owlie powlie for other birthday themes and baby shower themes and if you'd like ideas for a monster themed birthday party, check out my Board on Pinterest! The Holidays are coming and I wanted to start on holiday traditions. I stole this cute idea from Pinterest, a baby Christmas tree foot print!
What you need: •Paper •Glue •Watercolor paints •Glitter •Other things you can use, stickers, wrapping paper, sprinkles, etc. Be creative! This was clearly pretty easy but help would be great! Just paint your little ones foot of any desired color and firmly press on piece of paper. Make sure you press down and lift straight up. My first tree came out wonky cus I slid Benji's foot. Wait to dry and decorate as desired. Have some arts and crafts fun with your baby and keep in a scrapbook to show him or her in the future of their first(or second!) Christmas! Happy Holidays! xoxo ♥ |
