Decorating for the Holidays has got to be one of my favorite things to do when it comes to decorating, especially during Fall! If you didn’t already know, Fall is my favorite season! Although Houston, Texas doesn’t have much of a fall until almost late September, the pumpkins, the crunchy leafs, the slightly cooler weather, pumpkin spice everything and all the fall activities that come with it just makes me feel all warm and fussy inside! I actually started decorating right after Benjamin’s birthday. Everyone was telling me, “isn’t it a little early for decorating?” And to that, I say, NO! I love being welcomed at my doorstep to my pumpkins and walking into my home to the smell of pumpkin pie. Why limit myself to that marvelous feeling for only one month? I like to celebrate to season of Fall all throughout September, October and November up until Thanksgiving and I honestly have no shame! With that Being said, let’s take a look at how I decorated my home! In our downstairs patio, I ended up keeping it a little bit simple. I wish that I could had gone all out and bought an inflatable giant pumpkin or have lots of twinkle lights, but of course with our tight budget, I decorated with things we already had. On the patio:
When you enter our home, the first thing you will see is our dining room. I ended up keeping things super simple by adding a garland to the back wall and adding a tall vase filled with mini pumpkins as our tables center piece. I think everything turned out super cute! Of course, I didn’t forget about my pumpkin scented candle which smells absolutely delicious! The Dining Room:
Can you tell I like pumpkins? In my kitchen, I realized I went pumpkin overload but I absolutely love it! I’m so thankful for finding that pumpkin mug at Goodwill by the way. Acouple years back, my mom accidentally broke a mug I had gotten at Target that looked really similar, and I was devestated ever since, thinking I would never find one like that ever again! The Kitchen:
Now mind you, my living room doesn’t always look this clean! I’m actually surprised that the kids left it this clean long enough for my to take the picture. Anywho, in the living room, all I did was change my cactus tapestry to this cute tapestry that I found at Target on clearance. I loved it because the colors reminded me of Fall with its golds, browns, oranges and black. I also added some mini pillows to the couch, and added a small autumn bouquet that my mom gave me. I love the bouquet because of the beautiful fall colors that it has and that’s something we don’t get much here in Texas. On our fireplace, all I added was another pumpkin, a Halloween banner, and some stick on bats to give it the impression that they were flying out of the chimney! You can make your own by buying some construction paper and finding cute ideas on Pinterest! The Living Room:
Now right next to the living room, is our little computer area. It was originally a breakfast bar as you can tell, but when you have a gamer boyfriend, any area large enough for his desk will become a computer area. Here, I decided to add a little ghost wereathe to make things look nice and spooky, along with the creepy radio that Benjamin absolutely hates! I added a jack-o-lantern, a little cat-bat figure, and a fake candle and chevron pumpkin and we were good to go! Computer area/Breakfast bar:
Out of the entire house, the bedroom has to be the most simple room. I honestly wish I had the money to buy a king size black comforter and to buy more Halloween pillows to make the room look extra Halloweeny, but of course I had to work with what I had. I bought a little felt wall decor to add to the kids corner, and I bought two little boxes that looked like little haunted houses to add to each night table. I also decided to decorate my night table with Room on the Broom, which is the kids favorite Halloween book right now! The bedroom:
Our upstairs patio was super simple as well. Alberto had put spiderwebs along the railing, but with two kids, the spiderwebs were gone the moment they were up. I added some bats and trick or treat sign to the wall so that it didn’t look so plain. Along with some spiderwebs that I clearly am not good at using! Like I mentioned earlier, I wish I could had decorated more with maybe some purple Christmas lights or more pumpkins and maybe even one of those light up standing figures that Target sells during Halloween and Christmas but this is what I could do with and I’m ok with that. Upstairs patio:
Now the bathroom! I originally just had the pumpkin soap dispenser, and ghost lights when we had smaller bathroom, but with this bathroom being a big larger than our last ones, the bathroom looked so simple with just those two things! I headed to our local Target and many many Dollar Trees, to look for as many cute Halloween decorations as I could find! To be honest, Dollar Tree has seriously stepped up their game in Holiday decorations! Of course they can be a little in the cheap side, but overall, I think they look super nice! One of my favorite finds at Dollar Tree has got to be the skull. I don’t know about y’all, but it reminded me of something Target would have! Behind our toilet, we usually have a bunch of magazines if I’m being honest, but I took them away and added a small tissue box and decided to put my succulent that’s always here, inside this cute pumpkin holder since I noticed pumpkins and succulents are a great combo these days. Just trying to keep up with trends! The Bathroom:
