Today we decided to finally have our first home cooked meal at our new home! Alberto decided that we should make some pork chops with mashed potatoes. For our first meal I thought maybe it was too much to cook. I usually like to leave pork chops marinating for a few hours and I had forgotten to do that in the morning!
After much thought, I decided, pork chops it is! I started visualizing them with a sauce or glaze of some sort, so I began to do my search on pinterest and found some honey glazed pork chops that I used as a reference! Ingredients: • 1/3 cup of honey • 2 table spoons of mustard • Salt according to personal taste • 1/2 of medium onion • 4-5 medium sized pork chops In a skillet, add some vegetable oil or whichever oil you prefer and set the heat to medium or according to how you like to cook. While the oil is being preheated, finely chop the onion and combine all ingredients minus the pork chops into a large mixing bowl. It might seem like a little bit of "sauce" or marinade but it will work! Mix the ingredients thoroughly and next add the pork chops in for a good 5 minutes or until your skillet is nice and hot. Cook your pork chops but make sure that the little onion that does get stuck on them doesn't burn. Whenever you're down to the last 1 or 2 pork chops (however many fit on your skillet), add the remaining sauce with them so that it gets nice and caramelized. Once cooked, place all of your pork chops in a large plate and pour the glaze/sauce/ marinade on top of them. Serve and enjoy! I think the onions made this dish amazing. The caramelized onions and honey and mustard have a sweet yet savory taste that I will proudly use again! Serve with instant mashed potatoes (or home made if you'd like), green beans, carrots or whatever you'd like! I wish I could had taken a decent photograph but I was more interested in eating these delicious pork chops instead!
